Tokenade documentation
Updated
Tokenade cuts the token bill of AI coding agents: one install, zero config, and it trims what your agent sends to the model.
Tokenade is a local command-line tool that sits between your AI coding agent and its tools, and trims what the agent would otherwise send to the model: long command output, whole files, web pages, verbose MCP results. It plugs into each agent through that agent's own hooks, plugins or MCP configuration, so you keep working exactly as before. Everything is folded on your machine, and anything folded can be recovered byte for byte.
Quickstart
You need Node.js 18 or later and a free tokenade.net account (no card required).

Then start a session in your agent and check that it works: your first session.

Troubleshooting
Getting help
Run tokenade help for the live command list and tokenade <command> --help for the flags of one command. If something looks wrong, start with tokenade healthcheck: it checks the install and names the fix when a check fails. Plans and limits are on the pricing page.
